Beloved YouTuber Ben Potter, known as Comicstorian online, has passed away in a tragic accident.

He was 40 years old.

“Two days ago, on June 8th, my husband, Ben Potter, tragically passed away in an accident,” his wife, Nathalie Potter, posted on his X account Monday.

“To many of you, he was Comicstorian, narrating stories from various mediums. To his family, he was one of the most supportive individuals one could ask for,” the mourning widow wrote to his fans.

Nathalie shared how her husband was the pillar of their family behind the camera, always striving to bring laughter and ensure everyone’s well-being.

“As a husband, a son, a brother, a friend, or even just a stranger, Ben was loving and authentic. He was always there to listen and make time for those he cared about,” she expressed.

“His channel was a significant achievement for him, and while we need time to grieve, I know he wouldn’t want it to end like this.”

Potter’s wife mentioned that she and his team are committed to keeping his channel running to “pay tribute to him by continuing to share great stories from great creators, as well as to preserve the memory of our very own superhero.”

“We supported each other in all our endeavors, and I’m not going to stop now.”

The cause of his death remains unknown.

Potter launched his YouTube channel in 2014 and amassed a large following of over three million subscribers over the years.

He built his reputation on his passion for comics by creating audio dramas for his channel.

The self-proclaimed comic enthusiast also shared videos on his channel where he expressed his thoughts, reviews, and in-depth analyses of various comic books and superhero content, particularly from Marvel and DC films.

The superhero fan also ran a gaming channel called Eligible Monster Gaming with nearly 200K subscribers, where he discussed “video game lore” from popular franchises like “Assassin’s Creed” and “Resident Evil.”

Potter also had a vlog and manga channel named Mangastorian, focusing on comics and graphic novels from Japan.

His insights and opinions on comics and gaming endeared him to many fans online, with several expressing their sadness at the news of his passing.

“He did so much for so many. I am absolutely devastated to hear this. Rest in peace, Ben,” one fan commented on Nathalie’s post.

“I’m sorry for your loss. Ben was a huge inspiration to me. This is truly heartbreaking,” another shared.

Potter’s final video, “Why DC’s Reboots Beat Marvel,” was uploaded on June 7 — a day before his passing — and has already garnered over 160k views and more than 7k comments.

Many have continued to offer their condolences and share heartfelt messages about why they admired him in the comment section of his last video.
