You might have hated it in Pokemon Sword and Shield, but Pokemon Go has teased a much-disliked feature for its 8th anniversary

The Dynamax feature from Pokemon Sword and Shield, although not very popular, seems to be making its way to Pokemon Go.

It’s hard to believe that Pokemon Go is already eight years old. It feels like it just came out yesterday, and we were all outside catching Pokemon. However, seeing the 8th Anniversary key art from Niantic confirms the reality. But what’s more intriguing on the art is the hint that Pokemon Go might soon include the Dynamax feature from Pokemon Sword and Shield.

If you’re unfamiliar with Dynamax, it was the gimmick introduced in the eighth generation of Pokemon games. It followed Mega Evolution in X and Y and Z-Moves in Sun and Moon. While Mega Evolution provided additional evolution for certain Pokemon and Z-Moves enabled powerful moves, Dynamax simply enlarged your Pokemon, boosted their stats, and offered alternate versions of moves based on their type. Although not well-received by many, it’s now set to arrive in Pokemon Go.

Despite mixed reactions, Dynamax will be integrated into Pokemon Go. Additionally, it appears that the generation eight starters, Scorbunny and Grookey, will also be introduced to the mobile game. This news offers some excitement until the release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A in 2025, which is expected to bring back Mega Evolution after years.
