You can now filter Steam reviews to show those who "played mostly on Steam Deck"

Valve has implemented their own rating system to assess how games perform on Steam Deck. Despite following the guidelines of whether a game is deemed “Playable” or “Verified,” there are still instances where certain games do not function properly on the handheld device.

Now, Steam reviews from players who primarily used Steam Deck will display a Deck icon, indicating the exact amount of time spent playing on the device when hovered over.

Users on Steam can filter reviews by selecting the ‘Playtime’ dropdown and choosing “Played mostly on Steam Deck” to find relevant feedback.

While seemingly a small change, this feature is incredibly useful. As someone who plays a lot of games on Steam for work, it’s important to know in advance if a game will run smoothly on the Deck or if I’ll need to stick to my desktop for extended periods.

Valve has recently made adjustments to Steam user reviews, including deprioritizing short reviews or those with ASCII art, as they may not provide useful insights for potential buyers.

If you prefer, you can always read our reviews instead. We cover games on Steam Deck and always specify when we do (like our recent review of The Crimson Diamond). James also regularly tests games on the device for Steam Deck Academy. Be sure to check out his recommendations for the top Steam Deck games.
