‘WWHL’: Amy Schumer Advises Conan O’Brien To “Make Sure There’s No Beef  With People Like Chris Rock And Will Smith” Before Hosting The Oscars

Amy Schumer shared some advice with Conan O’Brien that she wished she had received before hosting the 2022 Oscars, where Will Smith infamously slapped Chris Rock.

During an episode of Watch What Happens Live on Monday night, Schumer, along with Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes, discussed the incident that occurred at the Oscars. Schumer jokingly advised O’Brien to ensure there are no conflicts with people like Chris Rock and Will Smith before hosting the ceremony.

At the 2022 Oscars, Smith physically assaulted Rock after a joke the comedian made about Jada Pinkett Smith. Despite the tension, Schumer kept the mood light when she returned to the stage after the incident.

Smith later apologized for his actions and resigned from the Academy, receiving a 10-year ban from attending AMPAS events. With Smith out of the picture, O’Brien can host this year’s ceremony without worrying about any dramatic moments.

For those interested, Watch What Happens Live airs on Bravo Sunday through Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, with new episodes available for streaming on Peacock the following day.
