With Quest 2 Widely Sold Out, Meta Aims to Make Quest 3 Price More Palatable with 0% Financing

As the Quest 2 is currently sold out, Meta is anticipated to release a new, more affordable device soon. To keep headset sales going, Meta has introduced 0% financing for the Quest 3.

Eligible individuals in the US can now finance a Quest 3 at 0% APR through Affirm. This allows for monthly payments of $25 for the 128 GB model or $35 for the 512 GB model over a 24-month period.

Although this financing option may result in paying slightly more than buying the headset outright, Meta is sweetening the deal by including a 24-month subscription to Meta Quest+ game service and Meta Warranty Plus coverage.

Meta Quest+ includes two curated monthly games and access to a library of titles, typically priced at $60 annually. Additionally, Meta Warranty Plus coverage costs $40 for the 128 GB model and $50 for the 512 GB model for two years of coverage. Overall, this bundled offer may result in cost savings compared to individual purchases.

Deciding whether to purchase a Quest 3 on credit and commit to a two-year ownership is a personal financial decision. Meta is expected to make significant announcements in the near future, potentially influencing your decision.

Rumors suggest that Meta will launch a new, more affordable Quest headset in 2024, possibly named Meta Quest 3S, to replace the Quest 2 as the entry-level device.

While details on Quest 3S are still scarce, Meta has confirmed plans to release its XR operating system to third-party OEMs, including ASUS, Lenovo, and Xbox, for mixed reality headsets.

Regardless of future developments, the Quest 3 remains a highly capable XR headset. For more information, you can refer to our comprehensive review of the device since its launch in October 2023.
