Williams Racing F1 team supports kids cyber campaign

Formula 1 Team Williams Racing Partners with Cyber Firms for Global Security Education Programme

Williams Racing has teamed up with cyber firms Keeper Security and KnowBe4 to launch a global security education programme for schools, aimed at empowering online safety across the sector.

The campaign, called Flex Your Cyber, is being launched first in the US with plans for a UK roll-out in the near future. It targets children aged between five and 14 and is supported by the National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA).

CEO and co-founder of Keeper Security, Darren Guccione, emphasized the importance of teaching cyber fundamentals to children, teachers, and administration staff in the education sector. He stated, “Our goal is to empower the entire educational community with the knowledge they need to protect themselves from today’s cyber threats.”

The Flex Your Cyber initiative will provide tailored content for parents, teachers, administrators, and children, with practical tips and age-appropriate activities to enhance online safety awareness.

The campaign includes engaging videos, games, and activities for children of different age groups. Lead driver Alex Albon from Williams Racing participates in a video to educate children on navigating the internet safely.

Teachers will have access to tools and resources to integrate security education into their lessons, while back office staff will receive guidance on building secure digital environments within schools.

More resources, information, and videos can be found on the Flex Your Cyber campaign website, including a cyber charades game between Albon and Williams team principal James Vowles.

James Southerland, head of partnerships at Williams Racing, highlighted the importance of cyber security in Formula 1 and praised the initiative for promoting good cyber security habits from a young age.
