Will Howard's CFP celebrations feature security stop, kiss with girlfriend

Following Ohio State’s 41-21 victory over previously unbeaten Oregon in the 111th Rose Bowl on Wednesday night, quarterback Will Howard’s celebration was unexpectedly halted.

Howard was unable to join his teammates on stage for the postgame festivities as a security guard blocked his path, as captured in a video that circulated on social media.

An exchange took place between Howard and a male employee, dressed in a suit and wearing a headset, although the specifics of the conversation remain unclear.

Ohio State defensive tackle Tyleik Williams found amusement in Howard’s predicament, laughing at him from the stage.

He even playfully mimicked the moment by extending his arms as if to guard the stage.

In a separate video, Howard shared a tender moment with his girlfriend after Ohio State secured a spot in the College Football Playoff semifinals against Texas.

The couple was captured sharing a kiss while standing in the crowd in front of the stage in Pasadena, California.

Howard, who typically keeps his personal life private, reportedly began dating Lauren Leiker in 2023.

Howard concluded the game with 319 passing yards and three touchdowns in the dominant win.

Ohio State and Texas are set to face off in the College Football Playoff semifinal at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on January 10.

The Sugar Bowl quarterfinal matchup between Georgia and Notre Dame was postponed to Thursday following a tragic incident on Bourbon Street in New Orleans on January 1, resulting in at least 10 fatalities and numerous injuries.
