What is the Dyson Car+Boat?

Dyson has just announced the launch of the Car+Boat, a handheld vacuum that is claimed to be the most powerful on the market.

As the name suggests, it is ideal for cleaning cars, boats, caravans, campers, pet beds, and other small or awkward spaces. While the name may not be the catchiest, it certainly gets the point across.

When will the Dyson Car+Boat be available?

The Car+Boat will be available starting February 4, 2025. Initially, it can be purchased directly from Dyson’s online store.

In the UK, the Car+Boat will also be available on the Dyson website and in Dyson demo stores.

The Car+Boat is priced at $279.99 in the US and £249.99 for the UK launch.

Is this Dyson’s first handheld vacuum?

This is not Dyson’s first handheld vacuum. The brand has released several handheld models in the past, including the Humdinger in the US, which is still available on Amazon for $249.99. Dyson has also previously launched Car+Boat models such as the V6 (Amazon UK) and V7 (Walmart) versions.

However, the new Car+Boat, which we believe is a V8 model, offers superior specs and runtime compared to the older V6 and V7 models. It lasts twice as long as the Humdinger, providing 25 minutes of cleaning time.

What features and specs does the Car+Boat have?

One common issue with handheld vacuums is their lack of power and short battery life. Typically, you can expect 10-30 minutes of runtime before needing to recharge, which may not be sufficient for thorough cleaning.

However, the new Car+Boat boasts improved runtime and power. It outperforms many rival handheld vacuums and even rivals Dyson’s flagship cordless model, the Gen5detect, known for its power.

While the Gen5detect is priced much higher at £649.99-£769.99 in the UK and $699.99-$949.99 in the US, the Car+Boat offers a more affordable option at £249.99.
