What C.J. Gardner-Johnson told Eagles before Super Bowl 2025

An emotional C.J. Gardner-Johnson delivered a passionate message to his Eagles teammates on the eve of Super Bowl 2025, before Philadelphia defeated the reigning champion Chiefs and sparked postgame drama with Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce.

In a video shared on the Eagles’ YouTube page, Gardner-Johnson hyped up his teammates in New Orleans on Feb. 8, motivating them ahead of their 40-22 victory at Caesars Superdome.

“It’s emotional for me to be here. Talk all this s–t. Going to win,” Gardner-Johnson exclaimed.

“F–k their legacy, bro, simple. A lot of y’all been through a lot of s–t, bro, a lot of s–t. We ain’t got to say s–t if we win it cause our story is going to tell itself.”

Hours after the Eagles’ victory over the Chiefs, Gardner-Johnson shared an in-game photo with Kelce on Instagram, leading to a controversy.

In the caption, the safety suggested Kelce “should’ve stayed with that thick s–t,” referencing the tight end’s former relationship with media personality Kayla Nicole.

Kelce and Kayla dated on and off for five years before ending their relationship in 2022.

The controversial post led to a conflict with Swifties, resulting in negative reviews flooding a Yelp page for a Florida restaurant owned by Gardner-Johnson’s mother, Delatron Johnson.

She confirmed to TMZ that the restaurant closed in late January.

During the Eagles’ championship parade in Philadelphia, Gardner-Johnson responded to Swift’s fans by wearing a sweatshirt with a controversial message aimed at them.

Swift and Kelce have kept a low profile following the Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss, with Kelce now contemplating his future in the NFL.

The Chiefs have given Kelce until around March 14 to make a decision, with a $11.5 million bonus at stake.

Kelce, who has played his entire career in Kansas City, saw a decline in his performance in 2024 with career-lows in yards and touchdowns.
