A highly anticipated update for Warhammer: Verminitde 2 has arrived, introducing the Versus PvP mode through a free update. Additionally, Fatshark has announced the upcoming release of another free DLC level pack, Verminous Dreams, starting in December.

Versus play has been a long-awaited feature within the Vermintide community, drawing parallels to the popular Left 4 Dead PvP mode. In this mode, two teams of four players face off as the Ubersreik Five heroes and the Pactsworn, each team having access to five Skaven beasts with unique abilities, reminiscent of the special enemies encountered in PvE gameplay.

A new set of challenges and rewards tailored for Versus mode has been introduced, providing players with opportunities to showcase their skills in various game modes.

Fatshark has also unveiled plans for the release of the Verminous Dreams DLC pack, featuring three new levels. The first level will be available on all platforms on December 9th, with the remaining two levels scheduled for early 2025.

Originally launched in 2018 for PC and followed by Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, Vermintide 2 continues to be a beloved co-op experience. Revisiting Vermintide 2 in 2022, we had a fantastic time once again. Jim commented:

“Vermintide 2 offers a solid core game enhanced by ongoing updates, content additions, and developer support. The dedication of the developers has resonated with the Warhammer community, eagerly anticipating future developments in the series. While the release of Vermintide 3 may still be distant, Fatshark’s current focus is on expanding their co-op formula into the sci-fi realm with Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. As they transition from fantasy to grimdark sci-fi, the team aims to replicate their past success in a new setting.”
