VR Attraction Expects 280 New Franchise Locations Over Next Four Years

Sandbox VR Plans to Open 280 New Locations in Next Four Years

Sandbox VR, known for its location-based VR attraction, has announced its ambitious plan to open 280 new locations within the next four years. The company recently celebrated the opening of its 50th store on the Gold Coast in Australia and is now gearing up for rapid expansion.

The company attributes its projected growth to the success of its franchising program, which was initiated in 2019. According to Sandbox VR, franchising has played a key role in making it the fastest-growing location-based VR startup globally. The company is now focused on expanding its presence in the US, with limited opportunities for prime locations and territory exclusivity still available.

During the second quarter of this year, Sandbox VR reported a 60% increase in franchise deals. The company currently serves over 100,000 monthly players and has sold 1.2 million tickets in 2023.

Notably, Sandbox VR generated $23 million in revenue from its popular VR experience, Deadwood Valley, last year. All of the company’s content is produced in-house, showcasing its commitment to quality and innovation.

In addition to Deadwood Valley, Sandbox VR offers a range of VR experiences, including an officially licensed one based on the hit Netflix show Squid Game. With a total of eight VR experiences available, teams of up to six can immerse themselves in interactive and engaging virtual worlds.
