When could Virgin River season 7 be released?
The good news is that Virgin River season 7 is officially in the works, making it Netflix’s longest-running drama series to date.
The cast shared the exciting news on social media well before the season 6 premiere:
While Netflix hasn’t confirmed the exact release date for season 7, we can make an educated guess based on past seasons and rumors.
The last two seasons of the show premiered towards the end of the year. According to Deadline, scripts were set to be finalized in January 2025, with filming scheduled to commence in the spring, as revealed by showrunner Patrick Sean Smith.
According to Whats On Netflix, filming is expected to begin on March 12 and conclude on June 26, 2025.
Filming for season 6 started in February 2024, so this schedule is slightly later. Therefore, we anticipate that Virgin River season 7 will likely arrive in late 2025 or early 2026. The latter is more probable if production takes as long as it did last year.
How many episodes will there be in Virgin River season 7?
Deadline confirmed that Virgin River season 7 will consist of ten episodes, mirroring the format of season 6.

After experiencing several heartbreaking miscarriages and grappling with her fertility struggles, Mel and Jack were considering the lengthy adoption process. However, a surprising turn of events may bring a baby into their lives sooner than expected.
Marley, a patient at Mel’s new birthing center, was planning to give her baby to a local couple. However, after some complications, she turns to Mel and Jack, offering them the chance to raise the child.
Actress Alexandra Breckenridge shared with TVLine her excitement about portraying Mel’s journey to motherhood: “I’m really excited to play Mel becoming a mother, knowing what it all means for her… all of those emotions are going to come out when she finally becomes the mother that she’s wanted to be basically her whole life.”
