Upcoming Arena Shooter ‘Frenzies’ Brings ‘Fracked’ Gunplay & Multiplayer Madness to Quest & PSVR 2
Creating Excitement with FRENZIES: A New Arena Shooter for VR
Developing a successful arena shooter for VR is a challenging task, but Near Light, a studio owned by nDreams, is up for the challenge with their latest game FRENZIES.
Combining the gunplay elements from their previous titles Fracked and Synapse, Frenzies offers players fast-paced five-round matches filled with a mix of iconic and unconventional gameplay experiences.
The game features various solo and team-based round types, including unique game modes like ‘Red Light, Green Light’ and ‘Glitter Pig’.
According to Near Light studio head Paul Mottram, “FRENZIES” is anything but boring, drawing inspiration from classic shooters like Quake and Unreal Tournament while injecting a dose of unpredictable excitement to the genre, all while maintaining the immersive qualities of VR shooters.
Set to launch on Quest and PSVR 2, Quest players will have the opportunity to enter the FRENZIES arena during the upcoming closed alpha period starting later this month.
Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the launch of the closed alpha. Exciting times ahead for VR gaming enthusiasts!
