Jose Aldo, the UFC legend and former featherweight champion, has once again announced his retirement from MMA following a unanimous decision loss to Aiemann Zahabi at UFC 315 in Montreal on Saturday.

The 38-year-old Aldo, who had previously retired after a loss in 2022 before returning to the octagon, emotionally stated in a post-fight interview that his career is now officially over.

Despite displaying flashes of his former brilliance during the tightly contested bout, Aldo ultimately lost 29-28 on all three scorecards.

In the third round, Aldo managed to land significant strikes on Zahabi, but the latter recovered and capitalized on Aldo’s fatigue to secure the victory.

Following the decision, there was controversy surrounding the scorecards, with several UFC stars criticizing the outcome as unfair.

Aldo revealed post-fight that he had entered the match with multiple injuries but chose to compete as he believed it could be his last fight.

With a professional record of 32 wins and 10 losses, Aldo leaves behind a legacy as one of MMA’s greatest fighters, having been the promotion’s inaugural featherweight champion and successfully defending the UFC title seven times.
