U.K. PM’s Chief of Staff Sue Gray steps down, takes new role

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Chief of Staff Sue Gray has resigned after just over three months following the Labour Party’s victory in a parliamentary election, amidst rumors of internal conflicts within Mr. Starmer’s team.

“In recent weeks, it has become evident to me that the intense speculation surrounding my role could potentially divert attention from the crucial work of the government,” stated Ms. Gray.

Ms. Gray is set to assume a new role as Mr. Starmer’s envoy for the regions and nations, according to an announcement from the Prime Minister’s office.

Morgan McSweeney, who previously served as chief advisor to the Prime Minister, will succeed Ms. Gray in her position, the statement added.
