Travel Snobs Are So Arrogant – Just Stop Bragging Please

Published

on

The other day we encountered an individual at an event who boldly stated, “Ask me how many countries I’ve been to, because I guarantee it’s more than you.”

He proceeded to mention that he would be willing to show us his passport stamps later if we were interested and that he had recently completed his 1000th flight on an airplane.

He is what I would call one of those arrogant travel snobs.

Travel Snobs are Unacceptable

Imagine if someone boasted about their achievements so openly in other situations.

I pondered on other scenarios where this type of behavior could have occurred.

Picture someone saying, “Ask me how high my grades were in school because I know mine were better than yours!”

What if another person declared, “Ask me how much money I earn because I’m certain I make more than you.”

No one in their right mind would utter such statements. Yet, some travelers believe they are entitled to brag about everything they do.

Travel is wonderful, but so is being grounded.

Having a home, enjoying your career, being in love, and sharing a good laugh are all beautiful aspects of life. Life is Beautiful.

Dave and I chose to travel because it has always been our dream to work together.

Travel served as the catalyst that brought our dream to fruition. As we journeyed to various destinations over the years, we discovered our love for spending every moment together.

We enjoyed exploring new places, challenging ourselves, and strengthening our relationship. Travel helped us build a more fulfilling life at home and inspired us, but others may have found inspiration in different aspects of their lives.

Our goal in life wasn’t to visit a hundred countries, but to live as enriching a life as possible and to seek happiness and fulfillment.

To us, that’s what life is all about. Pursuing happiness. I say ‘pursuing happiness’ because I believe happiness is a challenging goal to achieve, but it’s worth striving for.

Life will always have its ups and downs, challenges, and difficulties.
