Aspyr Media has announced the upcoming release of Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, following the success of the original trilogy remaster. The game is set to be released on 14th February 2025.

The series takes a different direction from the first three games, with The Last Revelation in 1999 seeing Lara confronting the Egyptian God Set after accidentally freeing him. Presumed dead after saving the world, Tomb Raider: Chronicles explores Lara’s past adventures through the memories of her family and friends.

Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness marks the series’ transition to PlayStation 2, introducing new gameplay mechanics such as a stamina meter for climbing and melee attacks. Despite selling 2.5 million copies, the game faced production challenges and was not well-received critically, leading to the series being handed over to Crystal Dynamics.

Aspyr is implementing modern changes in the remastered trilogy, including the option to switch between overhauled and classic graphics, modern control schemes, boss health bars, and integration of trophies and achievements. The Darkness trilogy will be priced at $29.99 / £24.99 / €29.99.

Reflecting on the Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, we mentioned, “Lara’s original trilogy has been lovingly restored with the launch of these remasters, offering a definitive collection that bundles the core games and their expansions. However, dusting off these old relics in the name of nostalgia may come with a nasty surprise. Don’t worry, there are no mummy curses, snake pits, or swinging pendulum axes, though the clunky controls will definitely take some getting used to (again).”
