This Mod Lets You Play ‘Star Wars Outlaws’ in VR
Renowned modder Luke Ross has recently unveiled a new VR mod for the PC version of Star Wars Outlaws (2024).
Ross seems to be staying up to date with the latest game releases. Just released on August 30th, players can now immerse themselves in the world of Star Wars Outlaws in VR.
Although the 6DOF mod utilizes a gamepad instead of VR controllers, it is recommended to play in third-person mode. However, players have the option to adjust the camera for some impressive first-person perspectives.
Watch YouTuber ‘Lord Beardsteak’ as they navigate through Tatooine, showcasing the game’s stunning open-world environments:
If you haven’t had the chance to dive into Star Wars Outlaws yet, here’s how Ubisoft describes it:
Immerse yourself in the first-ever open-world Star Wars™ game, set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Explore various locations across the galaxy, both familiar and new. Take risks as Kay Vess, a rogue seeking freedom and a fresh start, accompanied by her partner Nix. Battle, steal, and outsmart your way through the galaxy’s criminal underworld as you become one of the most wanted individuals.
Similar to Luke Ross’ other R.E.A.L. VR mods, access to this mod requires joining their Patreon, starting at $10 per month. Once you become a member, you will receive instructions on how to install the mods (typically a simple drag and drop process) as well as recommended system specifications. Hint: You’ll need a powerful setup for most of Ross’ mods.
Ross is well-known for providing retroactive VR support for a variety of PC games, including Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring, and Cyberpunk 2077, among others.
Previously, Ross also worked on modding several Rockstar Games titles, such as GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Mafia II. However, due to a disagreement with the studio, many of these mods have been removed from the project’s Patreon, although they remain accessible on GitHub.
