This handset just won an award for least durable smartphone of 2024

Zack Nelson from the popular YouTube channel JerryRigEverything has recently revealed his picks for the least and most durable phones of 2024.

If you’ve watched his videos, you know that Nelson is an expert on phone durability. He’s put numerous smartphones to the test over the years, scratching, scraping, burning, and bending them to see how they hold up. And the results are often not pretty.

During the awards presentation, Nelson selected the Huawei Mate XT as the least durable phone of 2024. He pointed out that the triple-folding design with a soft center screen exposed to the outside world makes it susceptible to damage. Despite its innovative design, the Mate XT is not built to withstand rough handling.

In a memorable bend test, Nelson highlighted how the Mate XT includes sensors that vibrate when the folds are bent in the wrong direction. He noted that it was the first phone to “beg for its life” during the test, ultimately snapping under pressure.

On the other hand, the Armor 24 was crowned as the most durable smartphone of 2024. Nelson described it as a robust device that could survive being run over by a steamroller. The Armor 24’s solid construction made it impossible for Nelson to break it in half.
