The wonderful Dune Imperium’s digital version is getting its first expansion in July

Dune Imperium is an exciting strategy game centered around dominating the spice trade on a desert planet known as Dune. Despite my lack of familiarity with the Dune franchise, the digital version of the game provided me with all the information I needed about key characters like Barry Harkonnen and their quest for space nutmeg.
The game’s first expansion, titled Rise Of Ix, is now making its way to the digital version. This expansion introduces three new Great Houses – Moritani, Ecaz, and Vernius – each with two unique leaders and special abilities. Additionally, Rise Of Ix includes a new technology track and dreadnought ships to enhance military conflicts.
In Dune Imperium, players engage in deckbuilding and worker placement mechanics to gather resources and enhance their military strength. The goal is to accumulate victory points over several rounds by forming alliances, winning battles, or purchasing victory points. Despite my limited experience, I found the game easy to grasp and thoroughly enjoyable, even when facing defeat.
As for how Rise Of Ix will impact the existing gameplay mechanics, I am eager to explore and discover. The expansion is set to launch in the second half of July, as per the official announcement.
