The Sinking City 2

With the launch of its Kickstarter campaign, The Sinking City 2 has not only met its funding goal within days but has also surpassed it, doubling the initial target.

There is still nearly a month left for the campaign to gather more funds on Kickstarter, with some experts predicting that it may even reach a million dollars before the campaign concludes.

This achievement comes as no surprise, considering the popularity of The Sinking City (released in 2019 and later removed from stores due to a legal dispute) and its dedicated fan base in the gaming community.

The Sinking City 2 is set in the submerged remains of Arkham and, while retaining a Lovecraftian atmosphere, will offer a different experience from the first game, as it lacks the presence of ordinary and extraordinary individuals. Players can expect a focus on rowing and exploring ancient ruins, while retaining the core gameplay mechanics from its predecessor.

Frogwares is a Ukrainian game development company, prompting concerns about the impact of the ongoing Russian invasion on their future projects. Despite similar worries during the Kickstarter campaign for a Sherlock Holmes game a few years ago, the game was successfully launched on April 11, 2023. As the conflict with Russia continues, more supporters are rallying behind The Sinking City 2 compared to Sherlock Holmes: The Awakening.

The Sinking City 2 is a third-person survival horror game set in a surreal Lovecraftian rendition of 1920s America. It is slated for release on PC platforms (Steam, EGS, GOG), PS5, and Xbox Series. To support the project, visit the Kickstarter page.
