The Exit 8 live-action film announced

TOHO has announced a new live-action film based on indie developer KOTAKE CREATE’s surprise hit thriller game The Exit 8.

While details on the new live-action film for The Exit 8 are scarce, it is set to premiere in 2025.

Here’s a statement from the game’s creator, along with a teaser trailer:

Exit 8 will be adapted into a live-action movie! I was both surprised and grateful as I did not anticipate the game’s release in late November 2023, followed by the announcement of a movie adaptation about a year later. When I first learned about the movie, I was curious about how they would translate a story-less game into a film, but I believe they have managed to create an interesting movie that stays true to the world and atmosphere of Exit 8! I even had the opportunity to visit the filming location and witness the underground passageway and the iconic uncle firsthand – it was truly amazing! I hope you are excited to see the film, as I am eagerly awaiting its release as well!

The mystery/thriller game has been accessible on Windows PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5, garnering over 1.4 million downloads. Make sure to read our review here!
