The Alters release date has been confirmed as June 13th

11 bit studios has revealed that The Alters, a survival strategy game filled with clones, will launch on June 13th. The game will be included in Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on its release day. To accompany this announcement, a new trailer has been released, showcasing the various threats players will encounter on the perilous planet.

In The Alters, players will face dangers both seen and unseen outside their ship, spanning different biomes. These dangers range from floating rocks to instant death scenarios caused by suit disintegration, as well as time and space distortions. Radiation levels increase during the night, making survival even more challenging.

In the game, players take on the role of Jan, a space builder stranded on an alien planet, striving to survive and find a way back home aboard his unique ring ship comprised of habitable shipping container-like structures. To achieve this, players must create ‘Alters’, essentially clones of Jan with distinct skills, traits, and personalities. This mechanic introduces elements of psychological horror and mystery, as players are faced with binary decisions that prompt them to explore deeper and darker paths, questioning the consequences of their choices. Despite their biological similarity, each Alter has individual desires and motivations. Failing to meet these needs may lead to conflicts among the clones, intensifying the struggle for survival.
