Tesla Optimus robots will soon help the company build its electric vehicles

In summary: Elon Musk’s ambitious plan for the Optimus drone is taking shape as humanoid robots will soon be used in Tesla factories to assemble electric vehicles. Initially, the robots will be used for internal operations at Tesla, with plans to expand to third-party companies in 2026. Despite delays in the timeline, Musk remains committed to integrating robotics into Tesla’s manufacturing process.
Tesla’s focus is currently on cost reduction efforts company-wide, and Optimus robots are expected to play a key role in streamlining production tasks. Musk envisions a future where these robots could also serve as companions or assist with household chores in customer homes.
Tesla will have genuinely useful humanoid robots in low production for Tesla internal use next year and, hopefully, high production for other companies in 2026

While Tesla is at the forefront of incorporating robotics into its operations, other companies like Honda, Boston Dynamics, and BMW are also making strides in automation technology. The collaboration between big tech players like Nvidia and OpenAI further highlights the growing interest in machine learning-driven robotics.
