Tekken 8’s next fighter is Clive, actually
This week, there were rumors of a new character announcement for Tekken 8, with a trailer hinting at Anna Williams. However, at the Game Awards, it was revealed that the next fighter to join the game will be Clive from Final Fantasy XVI.
Clive brings a mix of fire and ice effects to his moves, reminiscent of his magical abilities. This marks the second Final Fantasy character to appear in Tekken, following Noctis from Final Fantasy XV in 2018. Some of Clive’s moves resemble those of Noctis, but he also brings his own unique fighting style. With powerful slashes and summoning abilities, Clive showcases a diverse moveset. He will be the fourth character in the season 1 DLC pass, joining Eddy, Lidia, and Heihachi. His Phoenix Gate stage is also included. Clive will be available in-game on December 16th.
For fans hoping to see characters like Tifa or Kiryu included, there may be some disappointment. However, Clive’s fast and aggressive attacks promise an exciting addition to the roster. As for the earlier speculation about Anna Williams, it seems those hints were actually meant for the next season of Tekken, indicating her arrival next year.
While some fans may still be waiting for characters like Lei or Miguel to make an appearance, Clive’s arrival brings a fresh dynamic to the game. His resemblance to Miguel in appearance may offer some creative customization options for players.
