KT Racing has announced the details of Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown Season 3, which includes some unexpected changes from the initial roadmap. Clan Wars has been postponed, but the team has addressed community feedback by introducing a new solo mode and other improvements to the game.

Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown Season 3 will commence on March 19th.

The new solo mode allows players to race against AI without the need for multiplayer matchmaking. This feature also enables pausing the race and fast restart, a functionality that was previously unavailable. Multiplayer mode will offer a 50% bonus reward to encourage player participation, although most races in events will likely be against AI opponents.

A new AI difficulty selection has been added, with options ranging from Novice to Expert tiers. Players can earn up to a 40% bonus reward for playing at the highest difficulty level.

Clan Stores have been introduced, allowing players to purchase new plates, rims, and other items at their chosen Clan HQ. Custom license plates are also available, offering a variety of plate designs and the option to set custom text.

Three new cars have been added for players to purchase:

  • Aston Martin Valour
  • DeLorean DMC-12
  • Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta

The Season 1 ranked reward, Pininfarina Battista, is now available in the luxury car dealership.

A new Navigation Mode challenges players to reach a location using only a compass dial on the screen, aiming to achieve the fastest time. Convoy Missions have returned, allowing players to drive someone else’s car.

Additionally, new weekly live events and a 50 level Solar Pass with participation rewards are now available.

While the new additions are welcomed, some player complaints remain unaddressed. In our Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown review, we noted, “After years of anticipation, Test Drive Unlimited is back in the form of Solar Crown. This open-world racing game caters to patient gamers who are willing to work towards unlocking key rewards. However, it is disappointing that the game may require further improvements and expansions to reach its full potential.”
