SNK vs. Capcom SVC Chaos

The official artwork for SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos has been altered for western audiences, with changes made to the depiction of Mai Shiranui and Princess Athena.

Fans have noticed the differences in artwork between the English and Japanese versions, particularly in the depiction of Mai and Princess Athena.

English (Censored)

Japanese (Uncensored)

While the alteration to Princess Athena is a simple cropping, the image of Mai has been modified to make her appearance less revealing for western audiences. It is unclear if any in-game content has been censored beyond the promotional artwork.

SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos is now available for Windows PC on Steam and will be released on GOG, Switch, and PS4 on July 22nd.

Originally released in 2003 by Playmore (now SNK), SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos was later ported to Neo Geo arcade and home consoles. Subsequently, it was ported to PS2 and Xbox, with only the Xbox version being released in North America.
