'SUPERHOT' Spiritual Successor 'Action Hero' Launches on Quest Next Month

Fast Travel Games, a VR veteran studio, has announced that their upcoming VR shooter Action Hero is set to release on Quest next month, inspired by the popular game Superhot.

Action Hero incorporates the time-stopping movement mechanic from Superhot and Superhot VR, where time only progresses when you do, allowing players to strategically plan out action-packed gunfights reminiscent of John Wick.

Arriving on December 12th for Quest 2 headsets and above, Action Hero puts players in the shoes of the protagonist in five different ‘movies’ spanning various genres.

Each ‘film’ is divided into four acts, each containing five scenes. Players must defeat enemies and navigate obstacles in slow-motion, with time speeding up as they move faster. Quick reflexes and careful planning are crucial, as taking a hit will restart the current act.

Fast Travel Games has teased a few genres, including a heist movie, an adventure akin to Indiana Jones, a cyborg-themed experience, and a ninja flick showcased in the latest trailer.

In addition to slow-motion combat, Action Hero will feature boss battles and unique weapons for each ‘movie’, along with five ‘Director’s Cuts’ that offer modified levels for new and challenging scenarios.

Exclusively launching on Quest 2 and above on December 12th, Action Hero will be priced at $20. Interested players can wishlist the game on the Horizon Store.
