Spirit Halloween is switching its stores to Spirit Christmas in these areas

Embrace the holiday spirit.

Spirit Halloween, known for its seasonal appearance in empty storefronts selling costumes and decorations, is gearing up to transition into Spirit Christmas for the upcoming holiday season.

The festive chain will offer inflatable decorations, stocking stuffers, apparel, and gifts at selected locations in the Northeast, where customers can enjoy a life-sized gingerbread village, send letters to the North Pole, and even meet Santa Claus for a photo opportunity.

In a statement to Fast Company, the company expressed its excitement about the new Spirit Christmas concept, aiming to create a festive retail experience that captures the essence of the holiday season, similar to what it does for Halloween.

Founded in 1983 in Castro Valley, California, Spirit Halloween was acquired by Spencer Gifts in 1999 and has since operated over 1,500 stores nationwide annually.

Spirit Christmas will be available at 10 locations, including Marlton, Brick, Mays Landing, and Woodbridge in New Jersey, as well as Albany, Bohemia, and Poughkeepsie in New York. Additional pop-ups will be in Erie, Pennsylvania; Waterford, Connecticut; and Dartmouth, Massachusetts.

The Mays Landing, New Jersey location is set to open on October 18, with others scheduled for early November.

Recently, Spirit Halloween was featured in a “Saturday Night Live” skit, leading to a humorous response from the company following the sketch’s jokes about the holiday retailer.
