Spider-Noir Live-Action Amazon Series News, Cast and Release Date
Spider-Man is widely recognized for its successful film adaptations featuring Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland. The animated films Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse have also garnered praise as some of the best superhero movies ever made.
Sony’s latest project will introduce Spider-Noir, a live-action series featuring Peter Parker set in the 1930s United States. This departure from the character’s usual environment promises a fresh take on the beloved hero.
Originating in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man Noir is a darker version of Peter Parker voiced by Nicolas Cage. The positive reception has led to Cage reprising his role in the upcoming live-action series.
The collaboration between Sony and Amazon Prime Video on Spider-Noir is an exciting development for fans eager to learn more about this new adaptation of the iconic superhero.
When could the Spider-Noir series be released?
While the Spider-Man series is still in the early stages of development, a release date has not yet been announced. If production progresses smoothly, a potential premiere could occur in late 2025 or early 2026. The series will first debut on MGM+’s linear channel before becoming available on Amazon Prime Video.
What will the plot of the Spider-Noir series be?
Based on the Spider-Man Noir comic books set in the Marvel Noir universe, the series follows an alternate version of Peter Parker living in 1930s New York City during the Great Depression. Spider-Man Noir gains his powers while investigating for the Daily Bugle newspaper, setting the stage for a unique and gritty storyline.
The Amazon series will explore Peter Parker as an aging detective reflecting on his life as the city’s sole superhero.
Who are the cast and the crew of the Spider-Noir series?
Nicolas Cage will lead the cast as Spider-Man Noir, marking his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Joining him is Brendan Gleeson rumored to play the villain and Lamorne Morris portraying Robbie Robertson. The show will be helmed by showrunners Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, with direction from Harry Bradbeer for the first two episodes.
Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, known for their work on Into the Spider-Verse, will serve as executive producers on the series.
