Soundcore's newest clip-style earbuds focus on comfort

Soundcore has recently launched its latest clip-style open-ear wireless earbuds, the C40i. Similar to the C30i released in April, the C40i features a clip- or cuff-style shape inspired by the Bose Open Ultra Earbuds. However, Soundcore claims that the C40i offers enhanced comfort due to its flexible connectors.

The C40i retains the customized ear grips fit system, which includes plastic sleeves that slide onto the earbuds for users with smaller ears. Available in Graphite Gray starting October 31 for $100, Soundcore also plans to release two additional colors, Desert Bronze and Clarity Black, in the near future. Similar to the Bose Open Ultra, the C40i features physical button controls located on the rear portion of the clip.

As with all open-ear earbuds, Soundcore touts that the C40i offers excellent situational awareness combined with comfortable all-day use. The earbuds boast a claimed 7 hours of battery life per charge at 50% volume, with the rechargeable case extending that to a total of 21 hours. A quick 10-minute charge can provide an additional 2 hours of usage.

The IPX4 water protection ensures resistance to rain and sweat, and the presence of a titanium wire inside the connector helps keep the C40i securely in place.

Featuring a 12mm x 17mm titanium-coated racetrack driver in each earbud, the C40i incorporates a 20-degree directional acoustic port to focus and direct music into the ear while minimizing sound leakage. The earbuds support Bluetooth Multipoint for simultaneous connections to two devices and can be customized using the Soundcore app, including a 3D-Sound profile for an immersive experience.

Soundcore has also announced the availability of its AeroFit 2 open-ear earbuds, the successors to the $130 AeroFit, now listed on amazon.com for $100. Available in Minty Green, Black, and White colors, with Abyss Blue set to ship in late November or early December. There is no news yet on a successor to the pricier AeroFit Pro.

The AeroFit 2 feature a slightly different design from the original Soundcore Aerofit, drawing inspiration from the Oladance OWS 2 in the open-ear earbud category. The updated shape of the AeroFit 2 utilizes a dual curved design to better match the natural ear shape, with rotatable earhooks for further customization.

The second-generation AeroFit 2 earbuds are rated IP55, providing protection against water and dust.

Equipped with racetrack drivers measuring 20mm x 11.5mm, the AeroFit 2 utilize Soundcore’s BassTurbo acoustic architecture. They support hi-res audio via Sony’s LDAC codec, offering 10 hours of playtime on a single charge and a total of 42 hours with the wireless charging case. A quick 10-minute charge provides an extra 4 hours of usage. Bluetooth 5.4 with Multipoint is featured, and the Soundcore app allows customization of sound and touch control preferences.
