Sony Interactive Entertainment appoints new president and CEO Hideaki Nishino

Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially announced the appointment of Hideaki Nishino as their new president and CEO.

Nishino is set to take on the role of president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment starting April 1st this year, succeeding interim president Hiroki Totoki who assumed the position following Jim Ryan’s resignation.

Prior to this appointment, both Nishino and Studio Business Group CEO Hermen Hulst were appointed to new leadership positions in replacement of Jim Ryan. Hulst will now report directly to Nishino under the new leadership structure.

Nishino will retain his position as the CEO of the Platform Business Group, while Hulst will oversee development, publishing, and business operations for all of SIE’s first-party content.

Commenting on his new role, Hideaki Nishino, CEO of the Platform Business Group, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, emphasizing the importance of technology and creativity in delivering entertainment experiences for a wide audience. He also thanked Hermen for his leadership and expertise as CEO of the Studio Business Group.

Sony also confirmed that Totoki will be stepping down as SIE Chairman to take on the role of president and CEO of the entire Sony Group Corporation. Additionally, Lin Tao, SIE Senior Vice President of Finance and Corporate Development and Strategy, will transition to the role of CFO of Sony Group.
