‘SNL’ mocks Yankees fans who interfered during World Series
The incident involving Yankees fans who interfered with Dodgers star Mookie Betts during Game 4 of the World Series received attention on “Saturday Night Live.”
Colin Jost mentioned the chaos in Los Angeles after the Dodgers won the World Series in The Bronx, including the looting of a Nike store.
During the show, a photo was shown of one of the fans trying to take the ball from Betts during the game.
The fans, Austin Capobianco and John Peter, interfered with Betts as he tried to make a catch against the wall, resulting in fan interference and their ejection from the game.
The Post reported that the fans would be banned from Game 5 as a consequence of their actions.
Capobianco, a season-ticket holder, discussed the incident in an interview with Barstool, acknowledging that their actions were inappropriate.
The team donated the fans’ tickets for Game 5 to a pediatric cancer patient and his family.
In addition to the segment on the fans’ interference, the “SNL” episode also featured an appearance by Kamala Harris.
