A tragic incident occurred in central Illinois on Saturday (April 19, 2025) when a single-engine plane crashed in a field, resulting in the loss of all four individuals on board.

Coles County Coroner Ed Schniers confirmed that the victims included two women and two men, withholding further details until their next of kin are notified.

The National Transportation Safety Board reported that the Cessna C180G aircraft crashed near Trilla, a small community, shortly after 10 am. Initial findings suggest that the plane may have collided with power lines, according to the NTSB.

“Heartbreaking news from Coles County,” expressed Governor JB Pritzker on social media, assuring that his administration is closely monitoring the situation and keeping the affected individuals in their thoughts during this difficult time.
