Shooter-MOBA hybrid Predecessor launches August 20th

Predecessor, the shooter-MOBA hybrid, is set to transition from open beta to a full release on August 20th, as confirmed by Omeda Studios. Inspired by Epic Games’ MOBA, Paragon, Predecessor has taken the core concepts from its predecessor and expanded upon them. Since its open beta launch in March, the game has attracted over a million players.

Throughout the open beta phase, Omeda Studios introduced new features such as Ranked mode, Brawl mode, and two additional heroes, Terra and Aurora. The game has also received balancing updates and new skins. With a roster of 35 playable characters, each with unique abilities, Predecessor offers a diverse gameplay experience. Developed in Unreal Engine 5, the game supports cross-platform play and allows players to purchase skins using in-game currency. Here are some key details:

  • Truly Unique Gameplay – Combining MOBA elements with third-person shooter mechanics, Predecessor offers a dynamic experience that emphasizes teamwork and strategy.
  • Over 35 playable characters – Predecessor features a deep roster of over 30 Heroes, each with their own playstyles and abilities.
  • The Only Unreal Engine 5 MOBA – Being developed in Unreal Engine 5 sets Predecessor apart, delivering high-quality graphics for both current and previous generation consoles.
  • Play with Friends, No Matter Where They Are – Cross-play functionality allows players on different platforms to enjoy the game together.
  • Earnable In-Game Content – Players can earn or purchase custom skins and rewards using in-game currency.
