A senior Hamas official informed AFP on July 14 that the Palestinian militant group has decided to withdraw from ceasefire talks in the Gaza war due to what they perceive as Israeli “massacres” and a lack of seriousness in negotiations.

The official stated that Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh conveyed the decision to international mediators, citing the occupation’s lack of seriousness, ongoing procrastination, obstruction, and the continued massacres of unarmed civilians as reasons for halting negotiations.

A senior Hamas official confirmed that the group’s military leader, Mohammed Deif, is safe and actively overseeing operations despite an Israeli airstrike targeting him.

The official reassured that Commander Mohammed Deif is in good health and directly managing the Hamas military wing’s activities. Israeli forces carried out a significant bombing operation on a displaced persons camp in southern Gaza in an attempt to eliminate Deif, as reported by Israel.
