Rogue Factor Shares Gameplay Reveal Trailer for Hell is Us

Rogue Factor has shared another gameplay reveal trailer for Hell is Us, their upcoming open world Souls-alike action adventure. This game is set to launch on September 4, 2025, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Set in the war-torn country of Hadea, players will navigate through a grim and wartorn setting using melee weapons and a drone to defend themselves against creepy monsters. While the game has some Soulslike elements, Rogue Factor has avoided labeling it as such.

The latest narrated gameplay reveal focuses on the world exploration aspect of the game and how players will discover locations without the use of waypoints or detailed maps filled with quest markers. The design ethos aims to return to a more freeform style reminiscent of 90s game design.

In the video, players will explore a devastated village, the protagonist’s childhood home, following clues to locate the blacksmith and uncover hidden secrets and side content such as locked chests and computer terminals.

Players will have a tablet to collect hints and details for missions, with the main quest being easy to track while side quests present more challenging tasks. The combat in the game is described as “midcore” and leans towards a third-person action RPG style, with the drone serving as a helpful sidekick providing tech abilities and distractions for enemies.
