Samsung TVs Get Netflix HDR10+ Support… But There’s a Catch

If you own a Samsung TV, you may be eligible for an enhanced viewing experience on Netflix with a free software update. The brand’s smart TVs and monitors now support TV shows and movies with HDR10+ support, providing higher contrast, brightness, and true-to-life colors and details.
However, this upgrade is only available for 2025 Samsung Neo QLED, OLED, and Lifestyle TVs, as well as monitors from 2025 and 2024. If you have an older TV or monitor, you will not have access to the new HDR10+ Netflix feature at this time.
But there is hope for future support, as Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, mentioned in a press release, “We are excited to bring this technology to Netflix’s 300 million plus members and will continue collaborating with various partners to expand HDR10+ support across our product lineup and the broader streaming ecosystem.”
Some older Samsung models do not support HDR10+ content due to Netflix using the AV1 codec. The website also lists HDR10+ supported titles on the platform, such as Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Bird Box.
