Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Release Date, Price & Specs Rumours

Galaxy S25 Edge: In summary
- The S25 Edge is the upcoming fourth model in Samsung’s flagship phone range, with its unique selling point being its thin and light design
- After some delays, it’s expected to get an official launch on 13 May and we expect it will go on sale soon after
- Key specs include a 200Mp main camera, a large OLED screen, but a small battery due to the design
Although most of the Galaxy S25 series of phones have been on sale for months, the wait for the S25 Edge model goes on.
This brand-new addition to the line-up was teased alongside its siblings, but Samsung has been very quiet about its new baby since then.
The main idea here is that it provides a very slim design, for modern smartphone standards anyway, and is likely one of the first in a new trend of slender phones.
It seems they will typically be called ‘Air’, like the rumoured iPhone 17 Air, but Samsung is going with Edge for now, which is the first time it’s used this name since the Galaxy S7 Edge in 2016. Back then, it meant the screen had curved sides.
There might not be long to wait for the official S25 Edge launch announcement, but here’s everything we know so far, including rumours and expert predictions on the release date, price and specs.
When will the Galaxy S25 Edge be released?
In summary
- Rumoured to launch officially on 13 May, following delays
- On sale by the end of May
- Tipped to miss out on US carrier availability
The Galaxy S25 Edge is an unusual phone. While it was announced alongside the other Galaxy S25 models back at Samsung’s Unpacked event in January, we’ve been waiting for it ever since.
Back then, Samsung only teased the device and said very little about it – perhaps in an attempt to create some mystery and hype. A similar thing happened with the Galaxy Ring.
The phone has been shown off in dummy type form at events like MWC 2025 and it was generally agreed that it would launch in April.
However, delays meant it was pushed back to May or June, but we now know, almost certainly, that it will get its proper launch on 13 May, thanks to two reliable sources.
Whether this is in the form of an online Unpacked event or simply a blog post is unclear, but we think Samsung will want to make a big deal of this new model, so some kind of event would make more sense.
It’s thought the phone will be on sale globally by the end of May.
A big question is whether the S25 Edge will get a US release, with evleaks in particular stating it “will almost certainly not be offered through US carriers”.

How much will the Galaxy S25 Edge cost?
In summary
- Samsung let slip that it will cost $1,678 in Canada
- Rumoured to sit between the S25+ and S25 Ultra with a starting price around £1,200/$1,200
While we wait for the full official pricing for the S25 Edge in the UK and US, Samsung accidentally gave away how much it will cost in Canada on its own website.
Here it revealed (now removed) that it will cost CAD$1,678 (roughly £900/$1,200) for the 256GB capacity, while the 512GB will be CAD$1,858 (around £1,010/$1,350).
Those UK and US prices are via currency conversion, so may not be accurate. In fact, it will likely be more expensive than those figures, with Evan Blass (Evleaks) suggesting it will sit “between the S25 Plus and Ultra”.
They cost £999/$999.99 and £1,249/$1,299.99 respectively to give you the ball park. This aligns with information from reputable sources, indicating that the price for the 256GB model in Europe will fall between €1,200 and €1,300.

Performance
The S25 Edge is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, similar to other models in the S25 series. It will come with 12GB of RAM and a choice of 256GB or 512GB storage options. Other expected features include Android 15 with One UI 7, stereo speakers, and Wi-Fi 7.
