Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake shows new trailer as preorders go live

A new trailer for Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake has been released ahead of the game’s upcoming launch, with preorders now available. Koei Tecmo will be bringing this revitalized grand strategy game to PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch at the end of next month on October 24th.

The latest trailer provides an overview of the various systems and features in the game. For those unfamiliar with Romance of the Three Kingdoms, it is a long-running series of historical grand strategy games that began in 1985, allowing players to lead armies during ancient China’s Warring States period. This setting is also used in Koei’s popular Dynasty Warriors franchise, which is set to be rebooted early next year with Dynasty Warriors: Origins launching in January 2025.

While fans of ROTK have their favorite installments, the 8th game remains a pivotal and beloved entry in the series. Koei and developer Kou Shibusawa have put effort into more than just a simple remaster for Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake, adding new content and features to deepen the strategic and roleplaying aspects of the game, as well as introducing more playable scenarios.

A new Wisdom trait has been introduced to provide additional player progression, increasing as players engage in battles and interact with fellow officers. The Duels feature has also been enhanced and now includes Debates, allowing players to engage in non-combat political confrontations.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake Key Features

• Every officer can be the hero! The “All Officers Play” feature from ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS VIII returns.

With more than 55 scenarios spanning over 80 years and featuring the largest roster of officers in the series, players can experience a vast and turbulent Three Kingdoms period with various choices.

• Vivid depiction of the drama between officers. A variety of fascinating new features!

New features have been added to portray different human dramas, such as “Tales” where players can influence events. Players can also form special relationships through “Destiny” with other officers, which significantly impact gameplay.

Changes in officer relationships can be tracked through the “Relationship Chart.” Additionally, the game’s visuals have been enhanced with newly drawn officer graphics and a blend of 2D visuals and 3D depth to create a visually stunning experience of the Three Kingdoms world.
