Rogue Incursion’ Quest Launch Delayed to 2025, PSVR 2 & PC VR on Track for December Release
Alien: Rogue Incursion is set to launch on Quest, but the developer Survios has announced a delay for the Quest version of the game, now scheduled for release “early next year.”
In an announcement on their website, the studio mentioned that the PSVR 2 and SteamVR versions of the game will still be released on the original date of December 19th.
The delay for Quest and Quest 3S is to ensure that Alien: Rogue Incursion meets the high standards set by the developers and delivers the Alien VR experience that fans and players are eagerly anticipating. The full message from Survios regarding the delay can be found at the end of this article.
Following the game’s preview event, where members of the press got hands-on experience with the game on Quest 3 connected to a PC, showcasing the SteamVR version. Early previews from IGN and UploadVR praised the game’s immersive environments, engaging narrative, and intuitive gameplay mechanics.
However, fitting these detailed environments into the performance capabilities of Quest 3 presents a challenge for VR developers, requiring additional care and attention to achieve the visually stunning experience that fans expect. This delay, while disappointing, is understandable from a developer’s perspective.
Alien: Rogue Incursion is a single-player action-horror game that puts players in the role of Zula Hendricks, a former Colonial Marine embarking on a dangerous mission on the uncharted planet Purdan. With the help of the AI companion Davis 01, players must navigate through the infested Gemini Exoplanet Solutions research facility, battling against Xenomorphs along the way.
The message from Survios addressing the delay is as follows:
At Survios, we strive to deliver top-tier immersive gaming experiences for our players. To ensure Alien: Rogue Incursion meets our high standards and provides the Alien VR experience that fans and players deserve, we have decided to delay the game’s release on Meta platforms until early next year. The PlayStation VR2 and Steam versions will still launch on December 19, 2024.
We have been thrilled by the positive reactions from the community, press, and creators following our initial previews, and we are excited to bring this thrilling, action-packed game to fans of Alien, VR enthusiasts, and newcomers to VR.
We look forward to immersing players in this beloved universe like never before. Keep an eye on our social channels for the latest updates on the game – we believe it will be worth the wait, no matter where you play.
