Robber charged for stealing just $1.50 from Dairy Queen at gunpoint

A woman from Florida is facing a felony armed robbery charge for allegedly robbing a Dairy Queen at gunpoint and stealing only $1.50.

Allison Fetting, 44, was already in jail when she was arrested for stealing a tip jar last year, which contained less than the cost of one of the chain’s Blizzard treats.

She allegedly used a black handgun to rob a Dairy Queen in Coconut Creek, located about 37 miles north of Miami, in February last year, according to authorities.

After failing to get the cashier to empty the register, she took the tip jar with the meager sum of $1.50, officials said.

No injuries were reported during the robbery. Fetting was initially arrested on armed robbery charges by Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office deputies a day after the incident.

She was later booked for the Dairy Queen robbery while already serving time in state prison for multiple robbery and drug convictions.

Fetting is now being transferred to Broward County Jail.

State records indicate that Fetting has served nearly three years of a four-year sentence for convictions related to aggravated battery, battery on a law enforcement officer, and grand theft from a 2003 arrest. She is also accused of similar crimes in Palm Beach County.

She is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.
