Report: OpenAI’s ex-CTO, Mira Murati, has recruited OpenAI co-founder John Schulman

According to Fortune, OpenAI co-founder John Schulman has left AI company Anthropic after just five months to join former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati’s new secretive startup. Schulman’s role in the new venture has not been disclosed, but sources have revealed that Murati has also recruited ex-OpenAI staff, including Christian Gibson from OpenAI’s supercomputing team.
In October, Murati was reportedly in discussions to raise over $100 million for her new company. Schulman, known for his work on ChatGPT, left OpenAI in August to focus on AI alignment and hands-on technical work at Anthropic.
