Remember The Pokemon Company saying it was going to investigate Palworld? It seems nothing’s come of that yet

Despite concerns from armchair lawyers and some actual lawyers about potential legal issues with Pokemon and Nintendo, PocketPair’s CEO has stated that the studio has not received any formal notice of legal action from either party.
For those unfamiliar, when Palworld gained popularity in January, it faced accusations of similarities to Pokemon in its creature designs. The Pokemon Company even issued a statement promising to address any potential infringement of their intellectual property rights.
However, according to PocketPair CEO Takuro Mizobe, there has been no direct communication from Nintendo or The Pokemon Company regarding any potential infringement. Mizobe mentioned in an interview that they have heard “nothing at all” from the parties involved, indicating that Palworld may not be facing any legal issues at the moment.
In the interview, Mizobe also discussed the possibility of expanding Palworld to other platforms beyond Xbox and PC. While the idea is still being considered, Mizobe noted that technical limitations may prevent a release on the Nintendo Switch due to the game’s higher minimum requirements compared to the console’s specs.
For those interested in Palworld, the Sakurajima Update is set to launch on June 27, providing a reason for players to revisit the game.
