PSVR 2 Gets Its Biggest Sale Yet Ahead of PC VR Adapter Release

PSVR 2 is currently offering its biggest discount yet, with a significant 37% price drop just weeks before the release of its upcoming PC VR adapter.

Initially launched in early 2023 at a price of $550, the PSVR 2 headset has already seen a price reduction to $450 earlier this year, but now customers can take advantage of an even better deal.

Amazon US (and other Amazon regions) are currently selling the PSVR 2 for $350, a 37% discount from the original price.

The Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle, which includes the headset and top games designed for it, is also on sale for $400, a 33% discount.

This sale is labeled as a “Limited Time Deal,” so it’s unclear how long it will last.

This significant discount comes just before the launch of Sony’s PC VR adapter on August 7th, priced at $60 / €60 / £50, allowing PSVR 2 users to access a wide range of SteamVR content directly from their PC.

Sony’s decision to release a PC VR adapter for PSVR 2 earlier this year was unexpected, considering the company’s previous resistance to such requests for the original PSVR headset. At the current sale price of $350, the PSVR 2 offers an enticing option for PC VR enthusiasts, with its high build quality, resolution, inside-out tracking, and quality controllers.

However, there are some limitations when using the headset with a PC compared to its native compatibility with the PS5. Sony has stated that certain features like HDR, headset haptics, eye-tracking, adaptive triggers, and advanced haptic feedback will not be available when using the adapter with a PC. Nevertheless, users can still enjoy the headset’s impressive 2,000 × 2,040 per-eye resolution, 110-degree field of view, finger touch detection, and passthrough view.
