The PS5 Pro’s design and plans for an announcement in the first half of September have been leaked.

The well-informed billbil-kun, known for reliably leaking PS Plus monthly games line up on French deals site Dealabs, is the source of this latest scoop. They confirm elements of the marketing plan for September, previously mentioned by Jeff Grubb on his Game Mess Morning podcast, indicating a State of Play showcase toward the end of September, likely coinciding with Tokyo Game Show.

The PS5 Pro announcement is expected in the first half of September, according to billbil-kun.

Regarding the console’s design, it will resemble a slightly upgraded version of the PS5 Slim and PS5. The design includes four grooves in the divide between panels, resembling a popped collar style. Sony may highlight the four grooves to differentiate from the three stripes and avoid any legal issues with Adidas.

The sketch indicates that the PS5 Pro appears thicker than the PS5 Slim, aligning with the multi-panel design of the Slim. There may be compatibility for swappable panels, and the added grooves suggest a longer design with improved cooling capacity closer to the original PS5.

The absence of a disc drive in the sketch raises questions about physical media support, with uncertainty if the console will include it. However, Sony is likely to provide support for the PS5 Slim’s detachable disc drive as a cost-saving measure.

Stay tuned for a significant PS5 Pro reveal in the coming weeks!
