The security brand Proton has recently launched a new online product called Proton Docs, a cloud-based document editing and sharing platform designed to prioritize user privacy. This platform aims to provide a secure alternative to popular tools like Google Docs.

Proton Docs To Serve As Secure Online Document Management Alternative

Proton Docs is now available as a secure document management solution, offering end-to-end encryption for user data.

This platform offers detailed document editing and sharing features and integrates with Proton Drive for secure document storage. Users can enjoy collaborative features like real-time editing, comment additions, image insertion, and secure document storage.

What sets Proton Docs apart is its encryption of users’ keystrokes and cursor movements, enhancing user privacy and security.

In addition to the product launch, Proton emphasized the privacy risks associated with existing document-sharing platforms such as Google Docs and Microsoft 365. These risks include data collection and sharing by providers without user consent, leaving documents vulnerable to breaches and surveillance.

Proton Docs’ end-to-end encryption protects users’ data, ensuring no third-party access, even from the provider. Users have full control over their documents and sharing permissions.

Proton Docs offers a freemium model, with a free plan providing 5GB of storage. Pro users can opt for higher pricing plans with 200GB, 500GB, or 3TB of storage, along with access to the entire Proton ecosystem.
