PlayStation has a new studio and it’s making a ‘frog-type game,’ whatever that is

PlayStation Studios welcomed a new addition to their team: teamLFG, a studio that originally started at Bungie but has now become its own entity. The announcement on the PlayStation Blog hinted at the studio’s first game, described as “an ambitious incubation project” that seems to be a mix of various genres.

According to teamLFG, their debut game is a team-based action game that takes inspiration from fighting games, platformers, MOBAs, life sims, and even “frog-type” games. Set in a comedic world within a new science-fantasy universe, the game is shrouded in mystery but holds promise. The studio consists of experienced developers from titles like Halo, League of Legends, Fortnite, and Roblox, as well as fresh talent with unique perspectives.

While this project may have been teased by Bungie previously, teamLFG will be the official publisher of the game. The studio’s vision is clear in their message, emphasizing the importance of friendship, community, and unforgettable gaming moments. They aim to create immersive multiplayer worlds and build games with their communities, highlighting the social aspect of gaming.

teamLFG’s introduction suggests that their upcoming game will be a live-service title, hinting at ongoing updates and community growth. However, details such as the title and release date remain undisclosed for now. The studio’s focus on social gaming and multiplayer experiences indicates a promising future for their debut game.
