Pathologic 3 announced with time travel mechanic, due for release in 2025

Received an unusual message in my inbox this morning – a dead rat with a cryptic message about the announcement of Pathologic 3. It seems that the developers, Ice Pick Lodge, are working on a sequel to their infamous plague town simulator, this time with a time-travel mechanic. Players will take on the role of the Bachelor, a doctor with the ability to influence the lives of the townspeople through decisions like ordering quarantines and patrols.

In Pathologic 2, players will act as an academy physician, researching pathogens and managing the epidemic by implementing quarantines and patrols. The time-travel aspect allows players to explore and alter events in the town’s narrative. It’s worth noting that Pathologic 2 is not a direct sequel to the original game but an extensive remake with plans to introduce different characters in future updates.

Despite initial reservations, later updates to Pathologic 2 improved the gameplay experience for many players. While some found the game’s harsh world intriguing, others appreciated its depth despite its bleakness. The prospect of a third sequel raises questions about the game’s future and how it will continue to engage players.
