One former Nintendo staffer thinks the company is probably a bit "uncomfortable" with all these leaks, but "the most important thing" right now is actually the lack of game leaks

A former Nintendo marketer has expressed concerns about the leaks surrounding the rumored Switch 2, stating that while Nintendo may not be pleased with the situation, their plans remain unchanged.

The anticipation and intensity surrounding the unannounced Switch 2 are reminiscent of the excitement seen prior to the original Switch launch. However, the current wave of rumors and leaks has reached new levels, with some resorting to unconventional methods like tarot readings to predict its release date. Despite the abundance of leaked information, Nintendo remains tight-lipped about the upcoming console. Kit Ellis, a former Nintendo director, shared insights on how these leaks may impact Nintendo’s long-term strategy in a Patreon video. According to Ellis, Nintendo values long-term planning over short-term gains, and any adjustments to the Switch 2 announcement schedule would be a reaction to immediate circumstances rather than a shift in their overall strategy.

Ellis emphasized that Nintendo’s primary concern is preventing game leaks, as hardware advancements are often incremental. While the current situation may be challenging for Nintendo, Ellis believes that once the Switch 2 is officially announced and showcased, the focus will shift away from the leaks. Despite the discomfort caused by the leaks, Nintendo’s long-term plans for the Switch 2 remain unaffected.

As fans eagerly await more information on the Switch 2, Nintendo’s focus remains on maintaining the integrity of their game releases. While the leaks may create temporary unease, Nintendo’s commitment to long-term success and innovation will guide their strategy moving forward.
